-- Question: "Get to know about e-cigarettes"
"Has anybody tried electronic cigarettes? Someone was smoking one in the elevator today.
I saw a tiny bit of smoke when he took a hit but didn't smell anything at all.
My husband and I are both smokers. I'm interested in getting this for him because I want
to go back to Hawaii and he'll go completely bats hit not being able to smoke on a plane
for 5 1/2 hours.Any experience? Good for heavy smokers or only light smokers? Brands?
Are these legal to use on an airplane?"
Answer:
Electronic ...
... cigarettes are like regular cigarettes, one size does not fit all.The pen style is a
bit longer, however, the battery lasts longer and you can get a cigarette or two more out
of the cartridge. It does look like you are auditioning for a remake of Breakfast at
Tiffany's though so your husband might not like it.The mini or super cigarette is smaller
and looks like a cigarette. This is what I use and I love it.
The nicotine cartridge lasts between 6-10 cigarettes. You can purchase different strengths
and different flavors of nicotine. Once you get really comfortable, you can buy bottles of
e-liquid and even refill your own cartridges (extremely easy and really cost effective).
Other than that, the throat hit is realistic, the consuming sensation you feel in your lungs
is fulfilling and the outgoing vapor is great. You can blow smoke rings, you can inhale,
you can hold in a little bit longer to help it evaporate a little faster (good on a plane).
Another note on the plane: As with anything that you do in public that might set off bells,
if you get a super/mini cigarette, you can cup the entire e-cig in your hand, like a cowboy.
If you blow the vapor towards your feet and not up into the air, it will probably go unnoticed.
And again, practicing to get you comfortable with it is a good idea.
-- Question: "Can you smoke electronic cigarettes around pregnant women?"
Answer:
No second hand smoke ... Second hand mist from an e-cigarette is not smoke at all,and
does not contain any substance known to cause death, short or long term, in the quantities
found. It becomes invisible within a few seconds, and is not detectable by smell...
Exhaled breath after e-cigarette use has been tested for CO only. No increase in CO was
found...Exhaled breath after e-smoking contains even less nicotine per puff, as much of the
nicotine inhaled is absorbed. Similarly, propylene glycol is largely absorbed and little is
exhaled...
The e-cigarette does not create side-stream smoke...Propylene glycol is harmless–it is used
in making theatrical fog and as an ingredient in soaps, personal lubricants and intravenous
medicines.
-- Question: "Is it true that electronic cigarettes are completely safe?"
Answer:
Nothing is completely safe, even water can kill you if you drink enough.E-cigarettes have
been widely available since 2004 with no serious harmful effects. Respected harm reduction
specialists consider them at least 99% safer than smoking.
-- Question: "How does the nicotine levels of tobacco and electronic cigarettes compare?"
Answer:
The math doesn't matter too much as there are too many variables to come down an exact
href="http://e-cigarettesmaster.com">E-vaporizer
number. Variables would be things like how you use the device, how you drag off it. How
long and how often you use it, etc. Listen to your body. If the 8 mg liquid isn't stopping your
cravings, then bump it up to 12mg and see if that works for you. It's a lot of trial and error
in the beginning. I started with 11-12 mg but found I needed 24mg in the mornings to
satisfy the cravings then dropped it down the rest of the day. Everyone's different so don't
be afraid to try different things to find what works for you. I smoked around a pack a day
(give or take) of Ultra-Lights and it took me about 2 weeks to learn the e-cig and find what
worked for me. Haven't had a cig since. E-cigs do deliver less nicotine and the method of
absorption is slower. So instead of that instant nicotine craving satisfaction, it will take a
minute or so longer.
Answer Two:
It depends on how often you are using it, not the nicotine content, per se.
An 8mg e-cigarette means that the nicotine liquid (e-liquid/e-juice) that they used contained
8mg per milliliter. Each cartridge contains about 1/2 milliliter of e-liquid. A light cigarette
contains .7mg per cigarette or 14mg per pack of 20. This means that you would have to "
e-liquid per day to equal a pack which would be an insane amount! It would be the
equivalent of using 4-5 cartridges per day. You'd practically have to have it in your mouth
every waking moment.
Answer Three:
the math is unreliable.Dr Eissenberg says that ten puffs of 16mg delivers no real nicotine
to the blood and Dr Laugesen says 16mg for five minutes vaporizer delivers about a tenth
of the amount of nicotine to the blood as a cigarette. Listen to your body and if you crave
a smoke then try more nicotine. It isn't always nicotine that you crave though;there are a
lot of other chemicals in smoke that you're missing too.
-- Question: "Are there electronic cigarettes that don't taste like tobacco?"
Answer:
For example: EGO-T was a top model and pop e-cig nowadays,
cartridges in many different flavors, including chocolate, vanilla, coffee, apple, and strawberry.
You can get them in increments from 0 to 16mg of nicotine. Since their cigarettes are
2-piece instead of 3-piece like most e-cigs, they don't get clogged, which allows them to
have the highest "smoke" volume of all e-cigarettes, so if you just want to look cool in the
clubs that would be the best way to go.
