Improving Your Career Interviewing Abilities

Your resume was great, now its time for the interview. Dress neatly, be on time and look the interviewer in the eye are all about putting your best foot forward when your resume gets you in for an interview.
Were you aware that body language is much more effective than a spoken word and the visual impressions will likely help an employer decide whether or not to hire you? Make every minute count in the interview as both your body language and appearance are normally completed with the first 5 minutes.
Giving the company information about yourself, learning about the company and deciding if it is the job for you are all goals that you should keep in mind. How well your qualifications match the needs of the company and staff are possible goals that your employer would be considering.
One of the most important parts of the interview is your work experience, of course education is too but employers would much rather you have work experience over a college education. Employers are interested in exactly what you did and how well you did it, so be very detailed when relaying this information. Make your best impression ...
... by being confident and giving details about your former position.
It is helpful to have somewhat of an idea about the questions you will be asked and may include Why you want to work for the company, you should use this opportunity to recount the positive points that brought you to the interview. Remember to never say anything negative about your previous employer. Another possible question is what can you contribute to this company? Its fine to mention the requirements in the ad but you want to also include something relating to leadership or something similar. You may want to be prepared for a question such as what can we offer that your previous company cannot offer? Primarily do not mention money, but instead refer to new challenges and personal growth. Many times an interviewer will ask some tough to answer questions and consider them carefully before answering. If asked whether you prefer working in a large or small office think first and if this company is small say something about enjoying a close atmosphere. If it is a big company you appreciate the stability of a big company.
Practice may be needed before you feel comfortable so a few practice interviews are a good way to go about it.
