Mohamed Muhsin, is a Strategic Management Consultant and the pioneer of MVM & Associates in Washington DC. He is a visionary and a highly favored keynote speaker at global IT conferences. Mohamed Muhsin served as Vice President and CIO of the World Bank. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked as adviser to the president of Zambia, Dr. Kenneth Kaunda.

The Boy of Kandy
Born in Kandy, M.V.Muhsin attended the Trinity College at Kandy, an elite school providing primary and secondary education. The first missionaries from Britain, Mr. and Mrs. Browning, set up an elementary school of humble proportions in Kandy which flourished in its day but was later closed down for unknown reasons. Four decades later, Rev. Ireland Jones established the Kandy Collegiate School in 1857 at the same premises, but again for unknown reasons it was closed down in 1863. Upon those foundations was founded in 1872 a new school which was named Trinity College, after Rev. Ireland Jones' alma mater, Trinity College Dublin. Mohamed Muhsin remembers this Anglican school as a multi-ethnic, a multi-religious school having a strong Christian ...
... foundation and contributing immensely towards the establishment of peace and harmony amongst a divided nation. The seeds of human development and social service were instilled in Mohamed Muhsin first at school.

Leader and Visionary
At Trinity, Mohamed Muhsin was offered every facility to grow into a complete personality. He was the Head Prefect. He was later elected as the Best All Rounder Student and awarded the Rydes Gold Medal in 1962, a prestigious title awarded after a firm voting process. Trinity College provided Mohamed Muhsin with not only education, but also good discipline, while offering students with activities so diversified, that there is abundant life throughout the day. As a student, he wanted to pursue a career in medicine. However, due to inability to do his zoology practical examinations well, he made up his mind to opt out of medicine as a career. While at Trinity, M.V.Muhsin got involved with the Social Service Union and offered his services at a dispensary run by Trinity at Mahiayawa. This dispensary provided free medical treatment to the poor and underprivileged.

After graduating from Trinity, Mohamed Muhsin worked in Sri Lanka for Hayleys Group of companies . Later he worked for 12-years in Zambia. When in Zambia, he accepted an offer from the World Bank and joined the World Bank as a Senior Country Officer for Sudan and Ethiopia in 1988. Muhsin served the World Bank for 17 years, until he reached retirement age, bowing out from the positions of Vice President and CIO in November 2005. His role as CIO was to align information technology services to support the strategic objectives of the World Bank, which are to fight poverty and improve the quality of the lives of people around the world.

Mohamed Muhsin is involved in foundations which globally promote the use of computer-related techniques to share knowledge. M.V.Muhsin envisages a time when computers in Sri Lanka can be of great help to both children and the farmer. He is also the Vice Chairman of World Links, a global organization, which promotes computer literacy in schools in the developing world.
