Salvage Data From The Corrupt Access Database Table
There are many external factors which can damage the Access database files. As most of the factors are unforeseen and inevitable one should stay geared up with the right technical knowhow. Microsoft think tanks have provided a Compact and Repair utility to recover Access Database. If this tool fails in performing the Access Database repair then this article can solve your purpose. With this method one can derive the data from a damaged database table.
There is an unexpected behavior in the database while running queries, updating records. Moreover, one of the following error messages appears on to the screen:
1) Jet has stopped the process because you and another user attempted to change the same data at the same time.
2) #Error
3) Records can't be read, no read permissions on MyDatabase.
In that case you can open the damaged database table to another database by importing it to another place. Before trying this Access Database repair method prepare a copy of ...
... the damaged database table. Transfer the structure only file of the database table to a new table. Now open both the tables (damaged and newly restructured database table) for comparing them. Go to the damaged Access table, Scroll view menu, click Datasheet View, select the whole record from the record selectors and copy the records (of the damaged database).
Now come to the newly restructured table and keeping the same positioning of the files in damaged database table move the files respectively (After selecting Edit and clicking paste). Conduct tests after every move from the old to new database. Jot down the data which cannot be copied or print a copy of it for future perusal.
Once the data table has been transferred, devise a separate database with a new name other than the previously damaged database. Now migrate the newly created table into the newly created database and close the MS Access.
Don’t delete the old database and store it in a different place and replace it with the new database. Delete the .IDB files from the database for making it the original database.
Things to remember while reconstructing the database table
4) Do not forget to check the recovered database before bringing it in the production environment.
5) Assure to keep the damaged database intact until the database has been fully reconstructed.
6) While creating the fields set the DataType to Number and FieldSize property to Long Integer.
7) For restoring the settings create another table – that would be final recovered table.
What the experts recommend for the amateurs
One needs to pay maximum attention while creating a new database table as any wrong step can further intensify the data damage. It also requires a lot of technical eminence for trying the aforementioned steps. A very easy method to recover Access Database is Kernel for Access Repair.
