Flip Project allows young people in Gibraltar to give something back to various charities within their community. There are limited spaces available on the project, so it is highly sought after, but is a great learning curve in order to understand about the real world and how important it is to help others who are in need. FLIP stands for Future Leaders in Philanthropy and encourages young people to become successful in their careers and life in general in order to be in a position to be able to give something back. The project was set up by the Bonita Trust and Credit Suisse and involves 16 to 19 year olds who study in Gibraltar in Spain. There are many benefits to being a part of it.

Charity Fundraising Events are important to keeping a charity alive. Getting the public involved in raising money for the cause in need helps to collect more donations in a shorter time, as well as creating a wider awareness. They allow people to have fun and get involved by giving ...
... something back to those in need. There are various different types of events and ideas that can be done to raise money. Businesses, schools, individuals and groups can all do this, whether working alone or together.

Some people choose to do sponsored events, such as a sponsored run or silence. This is ideal as the person can train to complete their activity and once they have achieved it, everyone who has bid donations to them can pay up. It works really well if you have a large network of friends, colleagues and family members and is even better if you can get a group of mates together and see who can raise the most money.

Cake sales, jumble sales and book sales are all great ways to raise money and have a good time. People loved bargains so if you set this up at your local school or community centre, it will be sure to get people interested. Maybe do it around Christmas time as people might want to buy cheap presents. You could even set up a Santa’s grotto for children or put on a raffle or tombola.

Organising a charity concert is also another good idea. You can get together local bands to perform for free at a local school, music venue or community hall and charge people entry. It may also get the press interested, which will help you to raise extra awareness and spread the word about the cause. This can sometimes be just as good as raising money. If you are not into music, why not try a talent content, dance event or catwalk fashion show.
