Kasauli: A Quiet Escape

Kasauli is a beautiful small town located in the state of Himachal Pradesh in India. There are a number of beautiful spots at the hill station and a number of hotels at Kasauli offer a number of different kinds of accommodation to the tourists that visit. The town is very empty during off season, which lasts from November to February and offers the tourist some peace and quiet that is very hard to find at most other tourist destinations in the country.

Kasauli is well connected to most other places in the state and the nearest airport to the hill station is located about 35 km away, at Shimla. One can also travel to the Chandigarh Airport, from where one can easily find a taxi to travel to Kasauli. The nearest railway station to the town is located at Kalka, about 40 km away. The hill station is also well connected by road and there are a number of buses and taxis traveling to Kasauli every day. There are a number of great things one can do on a trip to the hill station and trekking is one of the best ways to go to some of the most beautiful places in town. Sightseeing can be a great experience at the small town and there are a number of great places to see here. Gurudwara Shri guru Nanakji, is a historic Gurudwara that is located in the town and it also provides accommodation. Manki Point is an important spot in tow which is famous for the temple that is dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The views from this point are spectacular but the trek to the top can be hard, especially for those who are not used to climbing. Christ Church is a wonderful Church here that was built by the British family that founded Kasauli and is built in the shape of a cross. Sunset Point is a great place that offers some beautiful views o the hills and one a clear day, one can see as far as Chandigarh from here. There is a wonderful trail leading from unset Point to a place called Gilbert Hill, which offers views that are more beautiful than that of Sunset Point.

There are a number of great things to do on a trip to the hill station and there are a several hotels in town where tourists can find some great accommodation that fits the budget. Kasauli is the perfect getaway for anyone that is searching for peace and quiet.
