A Tour To Wildlife Indian Safari - National Parks In India
India can be a paradise for wildlife lovers. With around 100 national parks including 15 Biosphere reserves and 440 wildlife sanctuaries spread in climatically and geographically different regions, it will take patience to appreciate the incredible wildlife diversity of this subcontinent. These national parks and sanctuaries cover around 5% of the total land area. The efforts towards protecting such a vast variety of species began in the decades of 70’s and since then, India has been attracting a huge number of Wildlife India enthusiasts from different parts of the globe.
The northernmost region of the country is full of mountain ranges and maintains cold climatic conditions throughout the year. The snowy Himalayas are home to unique species of Snow leopards, Snow partridges, Chukkor, Ibex, Blue sheep, Himalayan wolfs, Himalayan Marmots etc. These confined species can be found in India National Parks like

Western Indian states of Rajasthan and Gujrat has its desert like conditions supporting entirely unique flora and fauna. National parks like Ranthambore, Sariska Keoladeo Ghana, and Desert Park in Rajasthan support Wildlife India creatures like tigers, elephants, variety of deers and are extremely significant for tiger conservation in India. National parks like Gir in Gujrat are the last habitat of critical Asiatic Lions in India. Besides these parks there are a large number of sanctuaries supporting a variety of species. Eastern India has very famous mangrove forests, Sunderbans national park supporting a good population of Great Bengal tigers which are very famous for their man-eating habits. The Sunderbans is an extremely beautiful forest.
The western part of the country has relatively dry conditions which give it different type of wildlife. National parks like

Support various species of deer, elephants and tigers. The National Park in Gir, Gujarat is home to the last of Asiatic Lions.
Eastern India is famous for its Mangrove forests which houses the world famous Bengal Tiger in the Sunderbans National Park. Sunderbans also offers many endangered species like the Rhino.
Southern India’s most prominent ecosystem is the Western Ghats. They are the home of the famous King Cobra. The ecological significance of the Western Ghats can be best explained by the fact that every expedition to the place reveals newer species to the experts.
