Warm Up Those Wellies
There are lots of reasons now why people wear wellington boots, which are no longer just associated with countryside activities. Anyone who has to stand on wet or muddy ground will no doubt opt for wellies as their footwear of choice because they will keep their feet and lower legs dry and clean. This is why wellies are so popular with gardeners. Dog walkers also love them for the same reason. They don’t want dirty trouser legs from traipsing their dogs through fields and parks, nor do they want cold feet while they stand watching their dog run around. Welly Warmers are also now extremely popular for anyone attending outdoor festivals in the UK, because our lack of good weather means the ground is often muddy no matter what the season. When stood around for a long time, having a pair of wellies on means that your feet won’t get damp and wet as they would in other kinds of footwear. The rise in people wearing wellies for this purpose lead to attractive designs and patterns becoming readily available on the high street over the last few years.
Of course, several jobs that require working outside, such as farming, will ...
... also benefit from using wellies to keep dry. With the bad winters we have recently had, many people have also pulled their wellies on to walk through the thick snow and to provide a better grip on the ice and compacted snow.
There is one major downside to wearing wellington boots for any of these pursuits or occasions, however. While they do a sterling job of keeping your feet dry, they do very little in the warmth department. In fact the inside of the boots is designed to dry quickly should any water get in, and so is quite thin. To combat this, we think Welly Warmers are a brilliant idea. These are cosy, fleece lined sock which goes on over your normal socks before you then put your wellies on. Made from high quality micro and polar fleece, they keep feet super warm all day, as well as being extremely soft and comfortable. They also add a bit of extra cushioning to the sole of the foot, making your wellies generally more comfortable too.
Welly warmers are available in small and large sizes (UK 4-6 and 7-9 respectively) and several different colours and designs for the faux fur tops which are visible outside of the boot, adding extra warmth but also stopping the Welly Warmers from slipping down and exposing your leg to the cold wellington boot! The designs we hold include zebra or leopard print, chinchilla and hot pink or bottle green.
The other great thing about using Welly Warmers is, apart from keeping your feet super warm, they are also machine washable, making them really hygienic. What’s more, should you get any water inside your boot, they will dry out really quickly because they are made from microfleece, renowned for its fast drying properties as well as warmth.
