• Tashichhoe Dzong: The Tashichhoe Dzong is the most prominent tourist place in Thimphu. It literally translates to “Fortress of the Glorious Religion”. This white washed building houses the offices and the throne of the King of Bhutan. It also houses the offices of ministers of Home affairs and Finance.
• Royal Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA): This institution was built for the purpose of conserving and developing the rich cultural heritage of Bhutan in performing arts. It provides training in Bhutanese traditional dances which include the famous mask dances.
• National Textile Museum: Bhutan has a rich culture of weaving and this Museum located in Thimpu will give a glimpse of it.
• National Museum: It is located in Paro and gives an insight into the rich culture and history of the country.
• National Memorial Chorten (Stupa): The Travel to Bhutan would be incomplete without visiting this architectural landmark. It is also known as Thimpu Chorten and is the most visible religious landmark in Bhutan.
