Yercaud is a popular hill station turned tourist spot situated in the Salem district of Tamil Nadu. It is located in the Servarayan range of hills in the Eastern Ghats. In Tamil language the name Yercaud means Lake Forest and this meaning describes the beauty of the land perfectly. Yercaud is also rewarded with the name of being the “Jewel of South”. Over the years, Yercaud has become one of the popular sightseeing spots and tourist flock to this land from every corner of the country and outside and the land captures the fascination of tourists with its Natural bliss and harmony. The highest point in Yercaud is the Servarayan temple situated at a height of 5326 feet and this remains the major tourist attraction throughout the year for all the visitors from around the world.

The most famous festival of Yercaud is the summer festival that is celebrated during the mid of May month. Seven days of glory and merriment beholds the summer festival every year. The important features of the festival are flower shows, dog shows, boating races and a colorful fair. Adiperukku Festival is another popular Yercaud festival. People believe it auspicious to have a dip in Kaveri River during the Adiperukku festival. Huge number of tourist visits this land during these two Yercaud festivals and enjoys the green city in the light of different colors of festivity. Therefore, a visit to Yercaud during festival gifts the tourist to experience a delightful journey through the cultural heritage of the land along with natural sightseeing.
