The School Of Advertising And Design Gets Students To Best Galleries In The World

Art lovers and students of art and art history will be able to stroll through some of the world’s most famous galleries at the click of a mouse. According to a recent report, Google art project will bring the gallery experience to your PC, with 17 venues and 1000 pieces of art on display 24 X 7, after Google put the venues online using Street View technology. In collaboration with 17 leading galleries in 9 countries, the internet giant has taken equipment from the cars it used to map cities and recorded the galleries so they can be enjoyed by anyone with Web access. The Museum of Modern Art in New York, London’s National Gallery and the Museo Reina Sofia in Madrid are three of the galleries that art aficionados will be able to explore the great works by logging on to www.googleartproject.com
Each of the 17 galleries photographed one super high-resolution image- (each image contains around 7 billion pixels) and took between four and eight hours to capture. This means visitors can see details in pictures that are impossible to view with the naked eye, such as the tiny Latin couplet in “The Merchant Georg Gisze” by ...
... Hans Holbein. Other works to get the super high-resolution treatment include Van Gogh’s ‘The Starry Night’ and ‘In the Conservatory’ by Eduard Manet.
Considering these advents, it will prove to be a great boon for students, who are studying in Advertising schools & Graphic Design schools. This is boon for those, who, for ‘Art Appreciation’ and ‘Historical Contextual Referencing’ need to acquaint themselves with classical art and incorporate it in their work.” observes one of the faculty members at a reputed design school in mumbia.
“Viewing an actual classical painting is a distant dream for most students…… .” says Parthivi Ghanekar, another student of Design. Works of Vincent Van Gogh, James McNeill Whistler and Sandro Botticelli are among more than 1,000 works that have been photographed and ‘hung’ in the virtual art galleries for view in more than 350 rooms containing works by more than 450 artists. Through the new inventions of Google, it is claimed that the art project will take the experience to another level.
The site also offers an application to build up a virtual art collection, and super high resolution pictures which allow enthusiasts to look at works in minute detail. The project represents ‘a major step forward in how a lot of people, particularly art students, are going to interact with these beautiful treasures. Owing to these advantages, a many school for graphic design are looking forward to include this as part of their course curriculum. Hopefully, the advents of technology in the field of designing will open far wider gates for the aspiring students, so that their dream of bright career is fulfilled soon.
