Kailpodu is another popular Coorg festival and is celebrated in the first week of September. This festival signifies the transplantation of the paddy crop. Another famous festival of Coorg is the Puttari which is a rice harvesting festival and is celebrated in the month of November or December. Uggadi and Shivratri too are celebrated in Coorg.
