Such sports as running, football, soccer, long jumping, rugby or field hockey can cause extensive damage to your legs and ankles; the damage can come from high impact sports and also they can cause shin splints. You need to make sure that the muscles in your lower legs, or hamstrings and the upper muscles, known as quadriceps are in good shape. Some sports areas have hard surfaces that are played on and you need to be extra careful with these; some of the sports include: basketball, running or tennis
You need to have ample healing time for any injury or it can keep coming back; some of these injuries can get so bad that you will never be the same again. This could make you favor the uninjured side, and this will cause it to eventually become as damaged as the other side. If it is very serious you may need to seek treatment.
