We all have different habits when it comes to using the telephone. This article explores some of the ways we use it, and how we can reduce the costs of doing so by calling over the internet.

While it is true to say that the cost of making phone calls has reduced over the years, thanks to better competition in the marketplace, it can still cost a lot of money. This is particularly true if you happen to have friends or relatives who live abroad and you call them every now and then to keep in touch.

Clearly if there is a cheaper way to keep in touch with them it makes sense to use it. You can send emails and message each other online of course, but it is not the same as hearing the voice of the other person and talking to them as part of a real conversation.

Luckily you can have the best of both worlds if you phone other people by using the internet instead of a traditional telephone line. This is perfectly possible if you have a
BT Home Hub Phone. The phone itself works via the internet as opposed to using a landline, so you can enjoy much cheaper calls. This is great news if you love using ...
... the phone a lot or have a need to do so when you are at home.

In order to use the BT Home Hub Phone you need to have a BT Home Hub 2. This is basically the second generation of the home hub that comes with a BT service. Once you sign up for the service and receive your equipment, you simply have to sit the phone in its cradle to let it charge up. Once it is charged you can start using it. Just be sure to put it back in the cradle at the end of the day, or whenever it is low on charge and needs recharging.

The BT Home Hub 2 enables you to make calls via the internet service you will also get from BT. The good thing is that you don’t have to worry about how it all works. Once you have the whole system set up and your home hub is in place and the phone is charged, you can use it without worrying about everything works.

If you often make calls from home you might find this is a much cheaper way to do it though. There are different deals you can choose from when you opt for this service from BT, so be sure to check through them all so you can discover which of the packages will suit you most. One of them also gives you your television services, as well as the phone and internet, so you can see you are able to get everything in one go simply by going with BT.

If you haven’t tried the service yet, perhaps now is the time to look into it further.
