Today is the Veterans days, celebrates mostly in the US, many people from other countries know About this day cos the people around world know well about American culture, they might not Like the way American government starts the wars in the past few years, but still, the soldiers get most respects and they are the true heroes. Just as general Patton has said: wars are fought with weapons, but they are won by soldiers".
No one would like to get themselves involved into a war, they are like us have families, friends, happy lives, but for their countries they have to go to the front and join into the war, they are going to face fears, blood, dead bodies, the worst and most dangerous situations could happened during the war,of cause the deaths is the common thing, however the hardest part would be, and always be that "have to kill", to kill the people they haven't even met before, the kind people are living in the other side of the earth, absolutely strangers , the people they kill who, are the same as them, have families. ... people have being astounding, after watching, they comfort themselves it is only a movie, they have cheated themselves, because the real war is more cruel than movies.
The great thing behind the war, is to do something to support their country, the soldiers hope they could spend their few years, even the lives they could sacrifice, and all of this is from their believes and their countries. What else choices do they have when they are in the war, and people like me living outside of the war can not imagine the saddness thing they are going to face when the war ends, is that they are back to their countries, into their lives again, they found they have lost more, the time they have lost when they are in the war. The only memories they have is wetted and smelled tobaccos and the guns during the war. They might need many years to recover and refresh their mind to get along this new atmosphere, besides the respects, what else could be given by the their families and friends around. The solders need honors, but they need cares as well.
