The Ferrari 458 Italia is the successor to the Ferrari F430. Since its launch in September 2009 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, it generated an enormous interest and success: it has been the subject of international critical acclaim and won several awards worldwide. With its mid-mounted V-8 produces 74 more horsepower and 55 more pound-feet of torque than the F430, therefore it is 0.1 second faster both to 60 mph and in the quarter-mile than the fastest F430.Performance features include extensive use of lightweight aluminum and carbon fiber, an F1-derived seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, a sealed underbody, deformable aerodynamic winglets in the nose, and an electronic rear differential that takes orders from an F1-derived stability control system. ... in the UK nominated the 458 Italia “Performance Car of the year 2010”, to be “one of the fastest, most thrilling and communicative supercars of all time, as well as one of the easiest to drive day in, day out.” In parallel, the Ferrari 458 Italia was also awarded of “Car of the year 2010” and also “Supercar of the Year 2010” from Car Middle East, one of the most leading magazines in the Middle East region. More awards were given to the Ferrari 458 Italia in China, were it was nominated “2010 Super Sports Car of the Year” by Top Gear, Chinese edition and also “The Most Admired Sports Car 2010” by Xcar, one of the most popular Chinese automotive internet portal. Not a surprise to anyone, Robb Report named the Ferrari 458 Italia Car of The Year for 2011: not the first time for Ferrari to win the Robb Report Car of the Year award, same victory happened when the 2006 F430 was launched. Robb Report automotive consultant, Robert Ross, revealed that it was “a landslide victory” for the Ferrari 458 Italia: “It was clear going in that the 458 Italia was a special car,” said Ross. “Despite this being such a state-of-the-art and track-oriented sports car, we found that it appeals to a wide range of drivers and is excellent at everyday driving.” He also added that “I think some were expecting an incremental upgrade from the F430, but this car blew everybody away,” he said.
