Herpes is a highly contagious infection which is caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV). Basically there are two types of herpes, oral herpes and genital herpes. Rubbing ice on the affected area for few minutes is one of the easiest and most effective home remedies for herpes. We all are familiar with tea bags. All you need to do is to cool the tea bags by placing them on the fridge. Now apply these cold tea bags directly on the affected area. The enzymes and tannic acid found in tea will reduce the pain and inflammation.
