Brainstorm and identify your goals:
1) Why are you attending and what do you hope to accomplish-brand recognition; showcasing a product/service; increasing sales leads; direct sales at the event; or a combination of all?
2) As you brainstorm about your objectives with your marketing team, make sure everyone is on board-enough resistance will be encountered from forces outside your team. Internal strife is best dealt with before you hit the floor.
Picking the best venues for your type of company/product/service:
1) Who is your target audience? Google tradeshow/conventions for your industry and do some homework; looking at show attendance history and size. Remember that fast, cheap and good are hard to accomplish in the exhibit world; so be mindful of show dates that are quickly approaching-pencil those in for next year.
2) Find out what shows your competitors attend on a consistence basis. Often, a company website will have news/info about recent participation in industry tradeshows/conventions. Also, show websites will often have an “exhibitor prospectus” listing companies who will attend/have ...
... attended their event. Associations and organizations also list shows they are associated with.
3) Once the decision has been made on which events you will attend, request the show manuals/kits. Having registration information; floor plans; specifications/requirements for booths/exhibits; schedule of events and show service/contact information, they are not only indispensible but required. Check and double check to ensure you fill out all forms accurately, completely and submit prior to deadlines. (Will need to know booth size beforehand)
Shop early for your trade show exhibit:
1) Consult with a Trade Show Display company regarding what you need/are looking for in an exhibit at least three months in advance of the show date. Knowing your budget and what your objectives are will help ExhibitTrader.com narrow the focus of exhibiting components that work for you.
2) Reserve floor space as soon as you solidify the size your exhibit and presentation will occupy (size and location greatly influence cost in an exhibit hall).
3) Now is a good time to create a comprehensive timeline including schedules and a list of preparation activities.
We will continue this tradeshow preparation countdown next week. In the meantime, visit our homepage, http://www.exhibitttrader2.com/ and familiarize yourself with all the exhibiting products available to help meet your marketing objectives.
