Are you always worried about the valuable items in your house? Many individuals worry about their valuables but the problem is they don’t do anything about their worries. If you want to want to get rid of the worries that you have then make sure you do all you can to protect what you have.

The very first thing that I recommend when trying to protect your valuables is to change all the door handles and locks so they are more secure. If you have older door handles then odds are thieves know how to break into them. Do yourself a favor and get something that can’t be picked.

Another thing that you can do to make sure that your valuables are safe is to add an alarm system to your home. The problem with this method is that it is going to cost you a little more than changing the door handles and locks but it will be worth it. There are many different home security systems but sometimes just getting a loud alarm will do the trick to scare away burglars and petty thieves.

Do you have jewelry? Do you keep a good amount of cash at home? The reason I ask this is because one of the best ways to protect your valuables ...
... is to buy a safe. There are a bunch of safes out there that you can choose from so getting the perfect one will not be a problem. My advice is to get a wall safe so that you can hide it behind a picture or a piece of furniture. Something that you need to understand is that the cost of safes is well worth it being that they do so much for you and your valuables.

Tips On Placing Your Safe

Use Inside Walls – If you want to keep your valuables safe then you need to place the safe on an inside wall. The problem with placing a safe on an outside wall is that they are easier to knock out and therefore not as secure. Wherever you place it just make sure that it is on an inside wall.

Don’t Make It Obvious – A great way to keep your safe hidden is to simply make it harder to find. By this you need to place it where it won’t be as obvious. Some of the worst places to put a safe are behind a picture above a mantle. A few great places would be in a closet behind all the clothes or in a pantry behind the food.

Place In Weird Locations – Did you know that you can really make finding a safe hard if you don’t place it in all the normal locations? There are thousands of places that you can hide a safe and you should really consider all of them. If you are not sure where to place your safe then stick it in the floor because most burglars will never look there.

Having a good safe is only part of keeping your valuables safe, you still need to change the door handles on all your doors.
