How The Grinch Stole Christmas the musical is the perfect way to ring in the festive season. Even though it is a children's story, it is one of those classics that will appeal to adults, even the most jaded ones. While the story was a hit in book form, it has proven to be all the more popular as a musical on Broadway.

The Story of the Grinch

How The Grinch Stole Christmas the musical deals with the Grinch, a bitter, lonely and all-round mean creature that lives all by himself in a cave. The only friend he has is his dog- other than that, the Grinch is probably the loneliest person in the world. The reason for this is that, his heart is two sizes too small. This is probably why he spends much of his time looking down on the town of Whoville, growing more and more jealous, as the town grows more cheerful with the coming of Christmas.

Finally, it all becomes too much for the Grinch. He dresses up as Santa Clause and even dresses up his dog as a reindeer. He then sneaks into the town and begins to steal everything- lights, presents, food, trees- anything that represents the Christmas season. Even when Cindy-Lou ...
... Who catches him and asks what he is doing, he lies to her about his intentions and goes on with his plan. Soon, the entire town has been picked clean of Christmas regalia and the Grinch is convinced that he has stolen Christmas. But soon he hears the sound of people singing- he realizes that Christmas has come to Whoville anyway, even without the presents and trees. It is at that very moment that his heart becomes larger. The Grinch returns everything he stole and is welcomed warmly by the people of Whoville.

Something for Everyone

How The Grinch Stole Christmas the musical is hitting Broadway just in time for the Christmas season. The show has garnered both commercial and critical praise for its past shows and even set a record for putting on 12 performances a week, right through the Christmas season.
