Lg Team Up With Keith Haring Foundation To Raise Aids Awareness

The Optimus Black Smartphone from LG has joined forces with the symbolic artwork of Keith Haring by featuring it on it’s handset. Not only is the Optimus Black the world’s slimmest and lightest smartphone, it’s now the most creative.

Haring was an artist and social activist whose work responded to the New York City street culture of the 1980s.
With recognisable pieces such as his ‘Radiant Baby’, all his work was produced in bold lines, vivid colors, with active figures carrying strong messages of life and unity.
Haring was diagnosed with AIDS in 1988, and a year later he established the Keith Haring Foundation.
It’s mandate was to provide funding and imagery to AIDS organisations and children’s programmes, as well as to expand the audience for Haring’s work through exhibitions, publications and the licensing of his images.
Haring enlisted his imagery during the last years of his life to speak about his own illness and generate activism and awareness about AIDS.

Two of the late pop-artist’s iconic images have been selected to emblazon the back cover of the LG Optimus Black handset.
This is not the first time that LG have partnered with the Keith Haring Foundation however; the first being 2008’s collaboration for the KF600 and KF700 with the goal of introducing art across the digital age.
