The key to successful corporate giveaways is promotion. Though this may seem strange as corporate giveaways themselves are promotional in nature, the whole point is to get more businesses and this cannot be done unless the giveaway is promoted almost shamelessly. If the platform of choice is social media, which is most often the case these days with corporate giveaways, post several times a day about it. You can also increase coverage by offering incentive such as extra entries in a contest or additional prizes for re-posting or sharing. One of the first steps in holding successful corporate giveaways is most definitely to get the word out.

While this is one of the first steps, corporate giveaways really start with deciding what to give away, and how to do it. Is it going to be a contest or drawing? Are the first however many people to sign up going to get something? Are there going to be consolation prizes? Is it going to be a coupon, a free product, or a coupon for a free product? All of these things must be considered and these are some of the hardest decisions to make when it comes to corporate giveaways. ...
... Some types of corporate giveaways work better than others for certain businesses.

For example, corporate giveaways by new or smaller businesses usually work best if one free product is going to be given. This is especially true of businesses selling handmade products such as children's clothes. Another option for a smaller business such as a cupcake shop or bakery is to offer a free sample to those who join their network. These types of corporate giveaways are designed to introduce customers to the business, the product, and keep them coming back for more. This is somewhat in contrast to the reasons for corporate giveaways by larger businesses.

Corporate giveaways put on by larger business and big corporations may drum up a few new customers, but the biggest incentive is customer retention. Offering the opportunity for current customers to try new product lines or receive their favorite products for free or at a discount through corporate giveaways goes a long way toward keeping customers happy. Happy customers remain loyal and spread the word. They are much less likely to change to another product or brand. In short, corporate giveaways can help most any type or size of business if they are properly planned and executed. This involves knowing your customers, your potential customers, and what they want the most from your business.
