Be Familiar With A Little Bit About The Tea Party Movement
The Tea Party Movement are words that have been circulating around America, now that the year for presidential election is approaching, and now that many are dealing with the Great Recession.
For those who don’t know anything about it, the Tea Party which is media’s hot topic today, is not similar to Boston Tea Party. The current movement is based on a protest targeted toward the English monarchy.
Now, the Tea Party is considered a conservative and libertarian movement that sponsors protests in opposition to issues like how the government spends their money and how the government is imposing taxes on the already exhausted Americans so it can keep the soldiers in nations like Afghanistan.
But what’s so controversial to the media and the world is the country’s debt and how the current Obama administration cannot deal with the situation. Coming right behind it is the debate on the Tea Party racism that seems to grip some of the more visible and vocal members running for president under the banner of the Republican party, Senator Michele Bachman and Herman Cain.
Well, Mr. Cain would definitely ...
... argue on the accusations of him being a racist since he, himself, is an African American, but for Senator Bachman, she might be having trouble dealing with the gay and lesbian community and whatever organizations and foundations associated with them. In a way, the LGBT community have accused the senator that she is racist in her views against them.
The Tea Party also has its own set of controversies because it is supported by the Bachman movement; there may also be other issues which angered a lot of American citizens who can see that the poor leadership which exists in the party is not good for the country. On the other hand, amid the economic crisis which has gripped the United States, the movement has gained more followers, particularly those who are discontented with how the government is being run.
The controversy behind the movement is building and has alarmed many, especially when followers are increasing virally. One example why lots of people are worried, is because the movement is so uncontrollable. There are some followers who have been arrested for vandalizing property and equipment owned by people who refuse to join their movement. There are also people who criticize the Obama administration as being similar to Hitler and Lenin administration, and for this the media is reacting.
As of today, Tea Party movement is responsible for all the famous protests dominating the country. Thanks to the Republican candidates of the presidential position, the movement is becoming more influential. Note to self that although the movement is mostly promoted by members of the Republican party, it is not a movement from the alleged party.
The Tea Party is largely concerned with taxes and the size of the federal government. Many of them express outrage at President Obama including racist signs, leading many to believe that Tea Party racism is driving much of the movement's sentiment.
