In many cases, when the campers are looking for sleeping gear, ask themselves one of the most difficult questions: bed or air bed? As you may know both of them have their advantages and also disadvantages. Your decision should be based on your needs.

Camping beds

Almost any bed that you will find for this purpose comes with an aluminum frame and with a canvas cover. Usually the beds come together with holdall. Also in the majority of the cases the canvas is actually made of polyester. You can find many different sizes and also different colors to match your needs and your camping trip.

Camping air beds

You might have heard that you need a pump to fill the bed with air. While in some cases you will get a manual pump, there are also some with an electrical pump, and even more, in some cases the pump is incorporated in the bed. Because of the design of the bed, it offers the users stability and just as in the previous case, there are different colors to choose from.

The top of the bed is waterproof made of vinyl beams and to make the mattress even more comfortable, it is raised 19” off the ground. ...
... Usually the mattresses have been created to fit the sizes of the standard sheets. When not filled with air, it is easy to fold the camping bed and they require only little space for storage. The set also comes with a box with a handle for easier carriage. Nonetheless the product is quite heavy, of more than 9 kg and it takes over three minutes to inflate.

Which one to choose?

If you are on a tight budget, you might want to consider the camping beds because in the majority of the cases these are less expensive. On the other hand, if you consider that your comfort is worth a smaller financial sacrifice, then you could also go for the camping air beds.

The truth is that in case of the air bed you can sleep in similar conditions as at home, while in the case of the bed you will truly experience the feeling of being on a camping trip, that isn’t necessarily uncomfortable.

There is no right or wrong decision in this case. Everything is about the needs and requirements that you have regarding that experience that you would like to have when you are far from your home.
