Freecell Solitaire - The King Of Solitaire Card Games

“Solitaire” is one such card game that stands apart and stands tall among all the card games that are popular today. People developed an interest in Solitaire and now Solitaire has many dedicated enthusiasts. “FreeCell Solitaire” is one of the exceedingly famous variants of Solitaire. According to the writer Martin Gardner in his section “Mathematical Games” in the June 1968 edition of “Scientific American”, the game of FreeCell solitaire or its sister game could be as old as 1920’s. FreeCell is easily played with a simple standard card deck using all 52 cards with 4 open cells and 4 open foundations; some alternate rules also allow the use between one to ten cells changing the game to either be more difficult or easier. A total of eight cascades are dealt in which four cascades have seven cards and four cascades have six cards. The top card in each cascade begins the cascade. Cards must be arranged in descending order and with alternating colors i.e. red King is followed by black Queen which is followed by red Jack and black 10 and so forth. Four temporary slots are provided on the top left side of most computer variants which can be used by the player to temporarily place single cards. Only after all cards are moved to their foundation piles and arranged in ascending order according to their suit, is the game of FreeCell solitaire won.
