Apart from being the largest it also is one of the busiest rail networks in the world with more than 30 million annual passengers. Indian railway is the leading third rail network in the world, and the rail system is well-organized, if not always according to timetable. Tracks running well over 60,000 kilometers help connect about 7500 stations, ferrying nearly 20 million people every day. Every day, Indian Railways sell millions of railway tickets for thousands of trains, considering how vast and complex the Indian Rail network is, Indian Railways provides the cheapest mode of transportation to majority of the people across the country.
