If you are a trader or thinking of a becoming a trader, you absolutely must consider the benefits of having a trading computer with multiple monitors. It seems that the world has become so used to viewing the internet on a smart phone, laptop or tablet, that people don’t realize the multitude of advantages of having multiple monitors.

One of the great advantages of having multiple monitors as a trader is the ability to see many different markets at the same time. Multiple monitors give you the ability to look at your target trading markets in several different time frames without having to click from screen to screen. Not having to spend time navigating various windows on a single screen and the immense reduction in clicks and keystrokes is a huge advantage. You will have the ability to focus, make decisions and execute trades much faster. Speed is the key.

Another massive advantage is simply comfort. Who wants to sit all day contorted in front of a laptop or netbook watching the markets? Having multiple monitors give you a mega size viewing surface to watch the markets in real time while not getting ...
... a crick in your neck. I have even heard of a guy who mounted multiple monitors to the ceiling and trades the futures markets while lying in a dentist chair.

It always amazes me when people ask me what is so great about multiple monitors. I have to ask: Would you rather go to movie where the screen is 5 feet or go see a 3D Imax movie on 50 foot screen? Would you rather watch your favorite football team on 13 inch black and white TV or a 70 inch plasma television? It reminds me of another weird phenomenon, people who go to concert and then hold up their cell phone to record it and wind up watching the entire show through the tiny screen! It’s the weirdest thing. People want to watch things on a smaller and smaller screen. It seems technology has us hypnotized into smaller viewing surfaces.

Seriously though, when it comes to trading, multiple monitors simply make trading and multi tasking much easier. It gives you more time to see the market and make good decisions, without having to navigate all over the place.
