"If you operate your own auto repair center and are trying to find a way to take your business up a notch, you should first make sure that you have an excellent service advisor. This person's primary role within the company is to be your customer service representative, communicating openly with the customers and being as informative as possible able the services they are getting. When it comes to offering a service, there are few things more important than being able to relate with your clients.

When a customer comes in with a vehicle that is requiring repair, they won't usually know exactly what the problem is, but they should be able to communicate all the individual symptoms to the advisor. As a customer walks through your doors, they should be met by someone who is fully prepared to hear their every wish and complaint. When a customer is unhappy with the services they've received they can become very irate, and sometimes the only way to make good with such customers is to have an advisor who can calmly address their concerns in a professional manner.

There is a good bit more to being a customer services advisor than just having good communication skills. You should find someone who is properly trained in auto repairs and has about two years in the industry or, at least, a strong educational background with all the necessary certifications.

If you are determined in building up a successful business in the automotive service industry, you have to treat customer relations seriously and build a trust with everyone you serve and the best way to go about building that type of trust is having a friendly advisor. As long as you can find and recruit a well spoken and experienced service advisor you should have no problems running a successful automotive service company. "
