London is the one of the most diverse cities in the world. The city is made up of 270 nationalities with more than 250 different languages spoken. There are five airports all with immensely accessible transport links. Once landed, getting around is easy, the underground is very easy to navigate and if you stay away from rush hour you will easily find seats and find the whole process quite pleasurable. Other modes of transport include the famous London buses or black cabs. Either way you will be able to get about quite easily and if you want to see some attractions you could always take a trip on an open tour bus.
There are hundreds of reason why people from around the world should visit London, so below I have listed my top six reasons.

History
The history of London goes back to AD50. You can visit the medieval era at Westminster Abbey. You can visit what is left of the Roman Empire's Londinium. The Romans built a city where London stands today. Londinium was the largest city in Britannia, initially it was a port, and goods were imported from the far reaches of the Roman Empire. Just walking around London ...
... you can see many buildings of this era in its breathtaking architecture. Buildings which are steeped in history and impressive to the eye include St Pauls Cathedral, The Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, , Sloane's House, Tower of London and the Albert hall.

Free attractions
Most of the top attractions of free. The top museums and art galleries are free to entry. The Natural History Museum is free as is the Science Museum and the British Museum. Art lovers will be pleased to know that the famous Tate museum is free and also the Victoria and Albert Museum.

Shopping
If you love to shop, you will be in heaven walking the streets of London. London houses somes of the most famous shops in the world. You can visit harrods, house of Fraser, Selfridges to name just a few. If you don't have a large wallet there are plenty of back street shops and markets such as Camden market, Petticoat Lane market and Bermondsey Market where you can pick up a bargain.

Nightlife
You are spoilt for choice when it comes to nightlife. There are plenty of restaurants, clubs and pubs and theatres. You can take in a west end play; have a meal at a Michelin stared restaurant and end up a famous night club like Stringfellows, Ministry of sound or many other celebrity haunts.

Parks
If you were to take a helicopter tour over London you will be absolutely amazed how much green area there is. Hyde Park is one of the most famous and now you can see the Princess Diana memorial fountain there. Other famous parks include, Kensington Gardens, St James's Park, Richmond Park, Regent's park and Battersea Park, again this is just naming a few, there are plenty more.

Hotels
There are literally hundreds of hotels or bed and breakfasts to suite any budget. You can stay at anything from a world renown 5 star hotel such as the Ritz or the Carlton, but there are also plenty of budget friendly accommodation including youth hostels from about £15 a night.

So if you're planning a visit to London you can be sure there is plenty to do and see. If you are on a budget, thats not a problem too. With a bit of organisation skills you can take a city break and have a great time on a budget or a lot less expensive as you think.
