How To Lose Fat, The Bodybuilder Way

It is no secret that cardio training is the key to burning unwanted fat. But while most people know this, they are still using cardiovascular training in a highly ineffective way and may actually be doing more harm than good in their quest to Lose Fat.
As Americans we often think that more of a good thing is better. But in the case of cardio training, it is not the quantity of work, but more the quality. Consider this fact; you can Lose Fat in a 30 minute interval workout than you can in an hour straight workout. In addition, by doing the same type of workout at the same intensity over a long period of time, you can actually stop burning fat in an efficient manner. How can that be? Well in essence, your body gets used to consistent levels of intensity. Interval training, on the other hand, makes your body guess what is coming next and thus keeps your metabolism burning at a higher level. Remember, the higher your metabolism burns, the more fat you destroy.
By running the same speed for long periods of time, your body gets stuck in a rut. It gets used to the intensity level and adjusts itself accordingly. ...
... Interval workouts, on the other hand, break up this the rut by constantly changing the tempo and intensity of your workout. Consider the following workout:
Run ½ mile warm up at an easy pace
Run ¼ mile interval at a moderate pace
Run ¼ mile interval at a sprint
Run ¼ mile at a moderate pace
Walk ¼ mile briskly
Repeat for two intervals
Run ½ mile cool down
Not only will this routine allow you to get in a great four mile workout, it will break up the monotony of running mile after mile at the same pace. In addition, it will jump start your metabolisms so that it Lose Fat even after your workout is complete.
Don't want to run interval workouts? Consider running two shorter workouts during your day. Go for a brisk two mile run in the morning and then another at night. This type of workout will keep your metabolism burning all day long.
If you are just starting out in the cardio realm, consider hiring a trainer to get you started. If you are not a runner perhaps you are better suited to using a stationary bike or elliptical machine. Most machines come with preprogrammed interval workouts with intensity levels that range from beginner to advance. In addition, this type of equipment is typically easier on joints that are not used to being taxed.
In order to be effective, cardio workouts should be done a minimum of three times per week. If you are a beginner, start out easy and steadily build up the level of intensity. Interval training done properly will allow you to see remarkable body changes in a relatively short period of time. One excellent way to gauge your progress in your quest to Lose Fat is to have your body fat measured before your training begins and then throughout your training schedule. You will be amazed by the results!
