Lg Release Nano Full Led Model Featuring Cinema 3d
In September 2011, LG Electronics launched the world’s first passive 3D TV, the NANO FULL LED featuring the latest in Cinema 3D technology, in order to achieve the much coveted THX® 3D Display Certification.
Being shown publicly for the first time at the 2011 CEDIA Expo., the NANO FULL LED is an ultra-slim full-backlight LED HDTV which uses LG’s innovative Cinema 3D technology and Smart TV platform.
Kevin Wines, Image Technology Director of THX, commented: “The milestone of being the first passive 3D HDTV to pass our rigorous testing and achieve 3D Display Certification is quite impressive.”
“LG has created a product that meets the utmost standards for 2D and 3D picture quality, delivering movie experiences with the same stunning colour and detail found in the filmmaker's studio.”
3D TV Technology
The 55LW9800 (NANO FULL LED), featuring LG Cinema 3D technology, allows users to recreate the 3D movie theatre experience within their homes via lightweight eyewear, crisp, bright images and wide horizontal viewing ...
... angles.
With extra polarised glasses costing only £2 in the UK, LG makes viewing TV, films, sporting and music events alike with family and friends easy, enjoyable and cost-effective.
With LG's FPR technology, the separation of images for the left and right eye is optimised, which provides users with an enhanced 3D effect with minimal cross-talk.
LG's 3D Light Boost, a thin film covering the screen, creates bright, crisp 3D images for an advanced 3D viewing experience by helping to offset dimness that can occur with other 3D systems on the market; this is also effective when using the 2D feature.
Jay Vandenbree, Senior Vice President of Home Entertainment at LG Electronics USA stated: “The 55LW9800 provides the ultimate home theatre experience for consumers who want great picture, immersive and life-like 3D, and best-in-class technical certification from THX.”
LG Smart TV Technology
To compliment the Cinema 3D technology, the 55LW9800 also incorporates the expanded LG Smart TV online content package.
Offering users easy access to thousands of movies, customised apps, videos, web browsing - as well as simple multimedia file sharing within a user’s home network, new additions to LG Smart TV include content from Amazon Instant Video, Hulu Plus, MOG, as well as video conferencing with Skype and numerous options in the LG App store.
