Isuzu is one of the most well known and respected pickup truck companies to come out of Japan. The company has been making quality vehicles since 1937. The company was given a boost in the war years when sales of their vehicles boomed. In 1959 they created a revolutionary new truck, known as the N-series. This was a cab over forward control truck which was so simple to drive that it became an instant hit and is still extremely popular to this very day. In 1999, General Motors bought a large stake in the company and decided to take it in a new direction, however, due to poor sales, this was a short-lived venture.

The use of Isuzu pickup trucks is widespread in many Asian companies and a number of models are available for sale in Europe; they are less popular in the US, where only a couple of models of Isuzu pickup trucks are sold. As well as pickup trucks, the company also manufactures commercial vehicles; in fact it was named the biggest producer of heavy goods vehicles in 2005.

Popular Pickups

Isuzu pickup trucks are extremely popular as they are well built, sturdy and reliable. There are many popular models ...
... of Isuzu pickup, all of which can be relied upon to do the job they were made for well. Below are some of the more popular models:

Isuzu Rodeo

The Isuzu Rodeo is a compact pickup truck which began manufacturing in 1988 and ceased to do so in 2004. The ‘Rodeo’ title is also given to a four wheel drive Isuzu, which was manufactured for the American market.

Isuzu Faster

The Isuzu Faster was built between 1972 and 2002. There are three different generations of the pickup available. Both two and four door models were made and the truck was available with either 4-speed manual transmission or 5-speed automatic transmission.

Isuzu I-Series

The I-Series is a mid-size pickup truck which began manufacturing in 2005. The trucks were built in the US by General Motors and ceased manufacture in 2009. The trucks featured a front engine and were available with either rear wheel or four wheel drive.
