Get Nicely Colored Leaves Of Greens When You Use Microgreens Seeds
"When you decide to try growing microgreens seeds you need to follow instructions in order to get the best harvest. They are very different from regular seeds; they are an entirely unique crop on their own. A lot of people get them confused with sprouts or shoots and this is the wrong concept. The word micro is just that; they are raised small are thin and used prematurely.
If you wanted to you could actually grow any seed as a micro green but it is best if you use true microgreens seeds for a better effect. They are specially picked and how they grow is unique; this is what makes them different and oh so delicious. Their taste as well as their appearance are very unique and different with each plant.
There are many ways that you can grow your seeds either indoors or outdoors, in a shady area, in the house, in a greenhouse or with the use of a clear dome. You do not want to risk molding or rot during the growing process so you have to be very careful. The plants would be useless in the event of those things happening. Keeping the soil moist is important but it is important to prevent watering the seedlings ...
... too much.
The produce that you will get are just for the one harvest. These are different even in the way that you cut them. These are just eaten in whole from that point up. You need to constantly check on them because when you are growing micro greens and the greens come out, you cut them and use them as quickly as possible.
For the best results you should soak your seeds for about 8 to 10 hours before you put them in the ground. This will help along the growth process. This does not appy if you are going to use a hydroponic system; you can skip the soaking of the seeds. It is very important as previously stated that you do not keep them in water too long; this will prevent you from having them mold since they could even rot.
If you are looking to add pizzazz to your cooking, salads or spice you should try to grow your own greens with micro green seeds. The secret is to cut the plants at the sight of the first greens that come out in the plants. This is the time they are at their best.
