A Look At One Of The Latest Handsets By Rim - The Feature Packed Blackberry Curve 9360
The Blackberry Curve 9360 is one of the newest handsets from RIM, and builds upon the winning formula of the previous Curve models. With a number of performance upgrades over its predecessors, it is sure to appeal to existing Blackberry fans, as well as win over new ones.
In this article I will take a look at some of its key features, and look at who this phone appeals to.
The dimensions of the phone are similar to many other smartphones currently on the market, and its appearance is unmistakably Blackberry. It has the combination of a TFT screen with a full QWERTY keyboard located beneath. As well as the keyboard, there is also an optical trackpad which allows users to navigate the UI by an alternative means. The screen itself is nothing to write home about, but functional all the same. Its resolution of 480x 360 is by no means ground breaking, but makes for decent display quality.
The Blackberry Curve 9360 is a competent camera phone, with a 5 megapixel unit on hand to take decent quality still images. This has an LED flash, and the ability to shoot VGA quality video footage as an added bonus.

... Blackberry Curve 9360 is a decent web browsing device, as you would probably expect of any Blackberry phone. It provides decent download speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps by virtue of an HSDPA connection in areas where 3G coverage is available. Also, Wi-Fi connectivity allows users to connect to their local wireless networks to surf the web, and this does not eat into data allowances, meaning users can surf to their hearts content without worrying about additional charges.
The Blackberry Curve 9360 can be used to store your music collection, videos, photos, Microsoft Office docs, and other files. It comes with 512 MB of storage as standard, but there is also a microSD card slot, which can accommodate a memory card of up to 32 GB, meaning there is plenty of potential storage space.
The operating system of choice is the latest version of the Blackberry OS, in this case version 7 of the software. This works alongside an 800 MHz processor which provides all the computing power the handset needs to run its applications.
Whilst the technology within this handset may not be groundbreaking, it makes for an ideal first smartphone, or even a suitable upgrade for business users looking for a solid productivity device. As an added bonus, the Blackberry Curve 9360 is much cheaper than the majority of its competition, a factor which is sure to contribute greatly to its appeal.
