Cell phones have swept away the world of innovation, and have altogether taken the telecommunication industry to the next level. Mobile phones were invented for the portability factor and easy connectivity. Companies have launched many cell phones in the past few years, and the creation of mobile phones have developed from a basic set to a well advanced mobile set over the time.

Mobile phones are devises that are created to be connected and to stay connected not just through making and receive calls but also through sending and receive messages. Well, now it has developed much more than just calling, receiving and messaging allowing one to even see the opposite person while conversing. The recently designed cell phones are not just a phone, through which one can call and message the opposite person; it is even music player, video player, internet device, and camera all in one, offering all kinds of services to its users. Pricing of the cell phones depend on the features that come along, design of the cell phone and its storage capacity. A mobile phone can be operated only after inserting the SIM card of a particular service provider into the cell phone to enjoy the services that particular service provider offers. These days cell phones come with dual SIM card facility i.e. one can insert two different SIM cards into the cell and enjoy the facilities provided by both the service providers.

Along with the development in the technology of creating smarter cell phones, it comes with its own set of advantages and disadvantages. There are many advantages as we all know, but the most important disadvantage is that when the company sells the cell phones either in their outlet or through a dealer, theses smarter cell phones come locked. This means theses cell phones are locked to one particular service provider only, which does not allow the user to enjoy the facilities offered by other service providers and neither shift to any other service provider. To enjoy the facilities offered by other service providers the user needs to unlock i.e. jail break their cell phone. He/ she cannot even use someone else’s battery if they run out of charge in their own battery, only because their cell phone is locked. In some countries like the UK, companies often lock the mobile phones so that their customer do not opt other carrier, since carriers claim that it is necessary to subsidize the cost of the phones. Sometimes they do agree to unlock the phone on a request made by the customer, but accomplishes their request by charging them a fee.
