Right from the World’s first general purpose computing device called the ENIAC, computers have become an integral part of our daily lives. Today the applications of computers range from individual and personal entertainment to large scale manufacturing and even automated life care methodologies.

Computers have in several senses replaced the need for a human monitoring and control in different and varied life scenarios. They offer more precise decisions and more accurate predictions of actions that humans believe is almost impossible. Today we just cannot imagine the world without computers. Forms of computing have evolved considerably from large and heavy devices that occupy nearly 2 or 3 floors of a building to devices that can be held on our palm.

Today the major avatar of personal computers that is preferred by majority of users globally is none other than portable computers which are more affectionately known by the name of Laptops or Notebooks. These brands have the most preference over others because of industry defining standards of perfection and commitment these companies offer along with their computer models and even accessories.

Today we know that a computer alone cannot be considered to be a complete package even if it is a laptop as the need for accessories have fuelled a new revolutionary battle among computer hardware manufacturers in bringing out the most effective hardware accessories along with the computer models that will complement the system in a nice way as expected by buyers who are willing to shell out whatever it takes to catch hold of the best. Various accessories include portable hard disks, speakers, USB storage devices or pen drives, webcam, mic, spare keyboards, joysticks, dedicated graphics hardware and many more.

The next phase of evolution from the era of laptops is of course Netbooks and Tablet PC’s which are today ruling the sales charts across the globe. They are smaller and lighter and hence more convenient than laptops to carry along with you wherever you go. They can offer almost all basic functionalities that a laptop can offer except for more speed and graphics support.

So as time passes on a fast pace we are sure to be treated to a feast when the next generation of computers began to hit stores and we cannot even guess what it is going to be like.
