Iphone 5 And Iphone 4 Are Going To Cater Towards The Business Phone Segment
The launch of the replacement model for the Apple iPhone 3GS – iPhone 4 – was met with great excitement, but most often than not, products like these often fail to deliver. However, the iPhone 4 seems to be an exception in this case as this phone has proven it over the last couple of months. Even after the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S2, the iPhone 4 still continues to lead the sales in the high-end smartphone segment. One of the main reasons for this is not only quality, but also features. However, going into 2012, these features are just not going to be sufficient for the iPhone 4 to compete with the phones that come with dual core processors. Hence, Apple will be launching the iPhone 5 in order to do so.
The first major change that we will get to see in the iPhone 5 has to be the design of the phone itself. Even though the iPhone 4 continues to be one of the thinnest phone in the market at just 9.5 mm, the Samsung Galaxy S2 recently overtook it in terms of thinness. It is a title that Apple will be keen to recapture, and the iPhone 5 is very much in the frame of becoming the thinnest phone in the market. The 3.5 ...
... inch display in the iPhone 4 is recognised as one of the best in the segment due to the high resolution of 960 x 640 pixels, which takes care of everything right from normal videos to the full HD 1080 p videos. The playback of these videos definitely puts a lot of strain on the phone, but the iPhone 4 has a 1 GHz single core processor, which is capable of achieving the performance levels desired to run the iOS 4.
The iPhone 5, on the other hand, is likely to come with the same retina display technology, but it will be having the need to provide high resolution to a 3.7 inch display rather than the 3.5 inch unit. This improvement comes about after the recent smart phones have become extremely keen in adopting the 4.3 inch display in order to improve their attractiveness. Even though one cannot expect the same kind of display on the iPhone 5, the 3.7 inches seems to be the perfect size for this phone. It will also not allow any dramatic increase in the size of the phone itself. Of course, this is partly down to the edge to edge display technology, which is used in a mobile phone for the very first time.
The iPhone 5 will be offering a 1 GHz dual core processor, which is the same A5 unit seen in the Apple iPad 2. This processor is certainly necessary on the iPhone 5 given the fact that it will be running the latest iOS 5 and also will be competing against the future dual core smartphones. The launch of the iPhone 5 in the next few months could bring down the prices of the iPhone 4 dramatically.
