It seems like technology has come very far and very fast. It is really hard to imagine what is next. A few years ago we could not even think about all the amazing things that technology has brought to us. As a trader, I have witnessed how the market went from being a crowd of people at the pit to now become 98% electronic. If you want to trade these days, you don’t need to go anywhere, all you need is to have a good trading computer and you are good to go. No need to dress up or fight the traffic, you could trade on your pajamas.

I have seen how the computers for stock trading have evolved. In the past, we used to be limited to only one monitor and before windows we were running DOS as the operating system. Nowadays, most computers for stock trading have 3 or more monitors. The monitors themselves have come really far. We used to have the bulky heavy looking ones. We have now flat panels which look very slick and use half if not more of the space that the old heavy ones.

The technology used on the panels has also evolved. We are moving now from LCD backlit displays towards LED. Most computers for ...
... stock trading use now LED back displays instead of the conventional LCD displays. LED displays offer more advantages than LCD displays. First of all, LED displays are only double the thickness of an iphone, whereas LCDs are four times the thickness. Another important factor to consider is that LED back displays save energy. When displaying the same image on an LED vs. LCD, LED displays use 25% less energy than LCD.

Another very important factor when talking about LED back displays for Computers for Stock Trading is that LED displays colors better. They offer a higher contrast ratio which makes color brighter and more alive. When thinking of computers for stock trading, you want brightness and aliveness since you will be looking at that screen for several hours every day. LED makes it easier on the eye.

LED back displays are a little bit more expensive than LCD but if you consider the overall energy savings that you will have, it will balance it out. Besides, when you are putting together your setup for trading, you want the best since this is going to be your main tool for trading. Just think again: You don’t even have to get dressed or drive anywhere to be able to trade. We have come really far that a lot of things can be done remotely. Trading is just one of them.
