Are you traveling this summer? If you are planning on an end of the summer trip, it's important to know what you can and cannot take on board so that you comply with TSA regulations. Especially if you have carry-on luggage, one of the most frustrating and dreaded parts of going to the airport is having to go through security check. As you wait in a long line only to reach unenthusiastic airline employees directing you to strip down and place all of your personal belongings on a moving belt so they can make sure you are complying with airline baggage rules, you start to think of whether you have anything in your luggage that might be questionable. As you watch the TSA employee view the screen of your personal belongings while you pass through the metal detector, you wonder if you will be the 'chosen' one for individual searching.

Going through this process can be a pain, but it's necessary to board your flight so why not minimize your anxiety by making sure you know airline baggage rules when it comes to what you can and cannot bring on board. Understanding TSA regulations ahead of time can help you prepare yourself for ...
... an easy breezy security check.

Do you know if your beauty tools make the cut? If you were to bring your nail clippers, nail nippers, tweezers, eyelash curlers, make-up scissors and a nail file with you while you travel, would they be acceptable items to place in your carry-on luggage? Airline baggage rules seem to be changing all of the time. Although, they've relaxed a bit, TSA regulations can still get you if you violate their rules. The last thing you want to happen is to have something confiscated from your purse or luggage because you either forgot or didn't know the item did not comply with airline baggage rules.

Fortunately, according to airline baggage rules most of your beauty tools are permitted in your carry-on luggage as well as your checked-in luggage. Anything you are 'iffy' about, place it in your check-in luggage if you have one. However, if you ever take carry-on luggage then please read on to see if they comply with TSA regulations.

Any nail clipper, nail file, eyelash curler, tweezer, make-up scissor and cuticle nipper is perfectly acceptable in your carry-on luggage as well as in your checked-in luggage. According to TSA regulations, scissors that are plastic or metal with blunt tips are acceptable. However, any scissors that are metal with pointed tips and blades greater than 4" are not acceptable. Therefore, all Seki Edge products are acceptable tools you can take with you in your carry-on luggage except for possibly the small all-in-one tool foldout in the Adonis 9-Piece grooming kit. Airline baggage rules also state that safety razors such as disposable razors are acceptable as well. But box cutter or razor type blades that are not in a cartridge and utility knives are not acceptable. If you have a Swiss army knife, keep this in your checked-in luggage. Be sure to review the contents of any grooming kits you take with you so you don't accidentally take any unacceptable tools with you.

If you are a woman, it is easy to forget about what's in your purse. Little pockets and small pouches often contain small beauty tools that are left there for long periods of time. It's important that women remember that their purse gets checked as well and that the contents of ANY purse or bag is subject to TSA regulations.

Luckily, most beauty tools are acceptable as both a carry-on item and checked-in item according to TSA regulations. Be aware that international airlines may have their own regulations so be sure to check with their airline baggage rules to be sure none of your items will be confiscated. With that said, if you are traveling anytime soon, its great piece of mind knowing what you can and cannot bring on board. Have a great rest of the summer!
