Head To Head With The Excellent Htc Evo 3d And The Samsung Galaxy 3d
The number of 3D smartphones available in the marketplace is on the increase. Although these handsets are never going to appeal to all consumers demand is growing and now Samsung have unveiled plans to launch a 3D model in their Galaxy range of phones. We take a look at the rumoured specification of this new model and compare it to the current king of 3D handsets, the HTC Evo 3D.
There is very little to to choose between the screen technology that is used on both models. HTC have always impressed us in this area and the Evo 3D is no different. This is thanks to a high quality 4.3 inch display which not only offers a high standard of 3D image but also exceptional 2D results. This quality can be attributed to a combination of the phones excellent 540 x 960 resolution together with an excellent S-LCD display which offers better quality than the standard LCD screens that are found on many models. It looks as though the new Samsung Galaxy 3D will offer the same sized screen as the HTC but at a lower yet still respectable resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Given that Samsung have traditionally produced superb screens we ...
... should expect a similarly high standard from this new model and despite the slightly lower resolution there should be very little to choose between both of these models in this area.
The Samsung Galaxy range to date has included a number of models made from a lightweight plastic that does make the models feel less premium than other brands. If this is going to be the case with the new Galaxy 3D then the HTC Evo 3D should have no problem coming out on top in this department thanks to the excellent build quality that it boasts. The HTC uses high quality materials which together with the devices substantial weight of 170 grammes gives the phone a real sturdy and high end feel. An area where the HTC may struggle to compete however is when it comes to the handsets digital camera. Despite offering a 5 mega pixel facility which can also capture 720P high definition film footage the new Samsung looks set to eclipse this with a camera which is destined to be one of the standout features on the model. The new device is rumored to boast dual 8 mega pixel primary cameras together with a front facing secondary unit that enables the user to conduct video calls. In the video capture area the Samsung should also offer an improvement thanks to the 1080P quality that it offers.
Despite the Samsung Galaxy S2 being one of the leading phones available it seems that the Galaxy 3D has some way to go before it can eclipse the superb HTC Evo 3D.
The HTC Evo 3D and the HTC Sensation are available now
