India Art Festival: Much Awaited Art Event For Artists Launched Successfully At Kolkata And Bangalor

India Art Festival, a modern and contemporary Art Fair is slated to take place from 17 Nov 2011 at Nehru Centre, Mumbai was launched successfully at Kolkata and Bangalore in a jam packed crowd of Artists, art writers and art gallery owners. The interactive session on “ART MARKET” was organized for launching India Art Festival at Aakriti Art Gallery, Kolkata on 13 April 2011, the art critics and art historian from art field were invited to talk on ART MARKET and its subtleties.

In this interactive session on “Art Market” at Aakrit Art Gallery, Kolkata, Nanak Ganguly, Art Critic & Curator, Chhatrapati Dutta, artist, and Rajendra, Editor, Art Journal spoke on the various issues pertaining to Art Market and India Art Festival. Chhatrapati Dutta commended the efforts by India Art Festival to make the festival democratic to certain extent by including separate section for Individual artists who are not represented by any art gallery. ... art festival and debated at length about its nature. The event was attended by Sudipta Sen, Sarmistha Maiti, Tapas Konar, Mrinal Sen, Sabyasachi Sen, Sharnya Chattopadhya, Arindam Routh, Atin Basak, Swapan Das, Pratuksha Mukherjee, Anandmoy Bannerjee and many others.

The similar ‘Art Market’ talks were organized by India Art Festival in a launching session at Gallery Sumukh, Bangalore in which Suresh Jayaram, artist, art writer & curator, H. A. Anilkumar, Art Historian and Critic, Ravikumar Kashi, Artists and Art Festival Curator, Rajendra, Editor, Art Journal were invited to share their thoughts on the current state of Art Market. Present at the occasion were S. G. Vasudeo, Babu Eshawar Prasad, C. F. John, Sara Arakkal, Naozar and Sillo Daruwala, John Devraj, Pramila Baid, Sumana Chowdhury, Krishnashetty, Chintamani G.G., K Sudhakaran, Nalini Malviya and many others.

This was the first series “Art Talks” event organized by India Art Festival simultaneously at four metro cities with many more to follow in the next few months till the India Art Festival is mounted at Nehru Centre, Mumbai from November from 17 to 20, 2011.
