In India, medical profession is highly sought after and the changing lifestyle, mushrooming population, and high stress careers are the main cause that leads to the increase of the medical services. In India, medical is a competitive field which needs specialized education starting at the school level. It has been estimated that about every year, 1.6 million aspiring medical students are competing for thousands seats. It is important to know the procedure about how to become a doctor as that will help you in taking decision and also guide you in right direction.
The first and foremost thing that needs to be considered is that you should be exceptionally good in studies and should take science as your major subjects that include the subjects like chemistry, biology and physics, as these subjects helps you in clearing the entrance exams for medical schools. Medical school involves a lot of science reading and the most important factor to determine is the grade performance at the college in science background. ... have common entrance exam. There are cases where, you have to go through the process of statewide medical entrance exams and if you are applying in multiple states for medical exam then you may have to take separate exam for each state.
To become a doctor you have to enroll yourself in a bachelor degree in Medicine College. Unlike in the United States, a potential medical student in India has to be obtain a specialized bachelor’s degree called Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) which is a four and half year program. MBBS degree contains courses in many fields like microbiology, pharmacology, toxicology, pathology and other vital medical subject areas. Once you are graduated with an MBBS degree, you have to go through a rigorous training of six months to a year in which a medical student gets the clinical experience and one have to work in different rotations in a hospital. Thus, a medical student is qualified to become an Indian doctor who gets the license by the state Medical Council of the relevant state to practice medicine.
The doctor can go for postgraduate studies in their medical educations, as this help them to get an MD degree in specialized filed like psychiatry, orthopedics, physicians, and general medicine. Once a medical student get the MBBS degree, he is eligible to practice medicine where as the degree of MD will take a medical student to the prestigious position and a higher paying assignments.
