The recent success of both HTC and Samsung in the business segment has made BlackBerry make up to the consensus that they are no longer going to be successful in this segment unless otherwise they include a number of entertainment features in their phones. It is a consensus that will take shape in the form of the Blackberry Torch 9860 and the Blackberry Torch 9810. These two phones have been recently launched by the company and they will be the face of the company for the next one year or so. Hence, it is vital that the company gets most of the features within the phone right and a preliminary inspection of the features will reveal the same.

The Blackberry Torch 9860 is a mobile phone that does not resemble any of the previous BlackBerry phones because it is an out and out touch screen phone. It has only the touch screen display and other forms of control over the operating system. Usually, people expect a physical full QWERTY keyboard to be present in a BlackBerry phone, but the Blackberry Torch 9860 is one of the rare exceptions ...
... in this case. Due to the simple fact that the phone has only one option when it comes to controlling the operating system, BlackBerry has taken extra care in making this option extremely good. This is clearly evident from the 3.7 inch display size, which accommodates a maximum resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Even though the resolution may not match the iPhone 4 levels, it still is extremely good for a phone.

The Blackberry Torch 9810 , though, is very different from the Blackberry Torch 9860 because it has most of the BlackBerry-ish features. This includes the physical full QWERTY keyboard and the optical trackpad, both of which provide excellent control over the phone. However, the most interesting aspect of the phone is the fact that it has the same 3.2 inch screen as the model that it will be replacing - the BlackBerry Torch 9800. However, the resolution present within this display is really the standout feature of the phone. It can accommodate up to 640 x 480 pixels, which is almost double that of the resolution offered by the Torch 9800. This makes for an interesting reading whether it be business applications or entertainment features.

The entertainment options accommodated within both phones come about as a result of having the BlackBerry OS 7, which was recently launched by the company. According to the company, the operating system comes with the Liquid Graphics Interface, which not only improves the looks of the phone, but also the performance as well. However, one really doubts this fact given that the 1.2 GHz processor may be responsible for a large part of it. The 768 MB of RAM also has to take some of the credit with regard to making the Blackberry Torch 9860 and the Blackberry Torch 9810 extremely powerful. Both phones are likely to be available later this year from September onwards in the UK.
