Entertain Kids With A Travel Corner
If you happen to have a travel agency business, you would encounter families coming in the office to make inquiries or reservations for their next family holiday. Most of the time, the kids are restless while waiting because nothing interests them in the vicinity. Why not extend your customer service to your clients’ kids by setting up a small kiddie corner? In this corner, set up a table with colored pens, pencils, scratch papers that have print on one side, and coloring pages. Just put individual pages there and not books because they might take the entire book home and you will have to replenish your stocks. And for those who can already read, you might want to produce travel brochures that are aimed specifically for their understanding. The kiddie brochure printing project can be done in the office so that you can just print a few copies and add more if needed.

You should think about your readers first hand. These are kids and therefore these pamphlets should appeal to ...
... their interest. So choose a theme for your pamphlet. You could produce probably several kinds—one about trees from different countries, another could be costumes; another could be about animals, or about festivals.
Once you have decided on possible themes, choose the nicest and more attractive photographs. Kids will relate more to visuals than the printed word because of their short attention span. So your reading material is pretty much like a travel photo album with some short captions. Your photos should also be descriptive about the theme, like they are telling a well-spun story.
The text should be concise but informative. It is already a challenge to make brief but straight to the point copy for brochures. But it is more challenging when kids are your target audience. Include data that mentions the biggest, the highest, the longest, or the “most” about a particular topic. That will make the kids’ eyes wide in wonder. They will remember these kinds of facts and will engagingly relate what they have read to their parents on their way back home. At the very least, you have taught kids some general information about geography and culture.
Put in some fun facts or trivia. You can make this portion into a game, like a “Did you know?” kind of segment. Then add a simple crossword puzzle or some other words games that the children can do. The answers should be found within the material so that they will have to really read it from cover to cover in order to learn the answers. That will keep them engaged for a while. You can also put a couple of photos and get them to “Spot the Difference.”
You may think that this project is a waste of money because kids are not paying or that you can still have business without having to do this. But this is a goodwill effort not really for the kids but for the parents who are your clients. The brochure printing will not cost so much if you can have your staff do the writing and the layout. It should not be very difficult for them. Then print the brochures from the office printer whenever you need some more. Both the parents and the kids will be happy that you did this.
