The HP LTO Ultrium 4 represents Hewlett Packard’s 4th generation of LTO4 tape, an exhaustively tested storage tape capable of storing up to 1.6TB of compressed data and 800GB of native. This robustly designed LTO4 media tape ensures maximum reliability as well as superior backup performance and robust data security. With transfer speeds ranging up to 120 MB/s native and 240 MB/s compressed, significantly higher than rival tape formats, HP LTO4 tape solution ensures uninterrupted functioning with its Data Rate Matching system. HP LTO4 drive matches its speed to the incoming data rate, which keeps the drives streaming. This innovative mechanism reduces wear and tear on both the drive as well as the tape cartridge, thus significantly improving the backup time, even on slower systems.

HP LTO ultrium solutions cost-effectively fulfill the demand for every need and budget. Secure AES-256 encryption system features in the HP LTO ultrium-4 technology that provides increased level of data security and prevents unauthorized access to your highly sensitive data. Hewlett Packard’s brand qualification procedures are also very ...
... exhaustive; they go beyond what is required by an lto4 media label. Therefore, HP’s LTO4 tape cartridge can be trusted for maximum reliability. There are a total of 896 data tracks on this LTO4, C7974A tape which help to enhance its recording capability, allowing more data to be stored on the cartridge. Other reliable attributes include a smooth tape surface and strong base film, which ensure a longer durable life.

Having a warranty of up to 30 years or 260 full backups, these HP LTO4 media tapes are robust, portable as well as reasonably priced. HP LTO4 media is available in two types, a WORM (Write Once Read Many) and in a RW (re-writable) form. WORM feature adds to data security, making HP’s lto4 tapes tamper proof and compliant archives while the RW facilitates in the editing of data. Lesser amounts of space are used by these tapes mainly because of a reduction in the tape size and their capability to store more amounts of data. Because of this, storage in space constrained environments becomes easier. Human intervention is also reduced which decreases backup time.

HP lto-4 drive includes an internal head for cleaning purposes, whereas a memory chip has been embedded in HP LTO-4 tape cartridge, which allows greater degree of efficiency when searching and loading data. Compatibility across brands and generations is also ensured giving the consumers more choice and value for money. Other new innovative features include a One Button Disaster Recovery (OBDR) mechanism which enables users to recover an entire system using just one single button.

Margin between End of Media (EOM) and Early Warning End of Media (EWEOM) has been increased to further enhance the read/write accuracy and backup efficiency. HP lto4 backup tapes are rigorously tested to help maintain highest level of media quality and provide robust security, storage value and performance. Customers, after using HP LTO4 tape devices, will feel a significant improvement in both backup and restore functions, and the pressure of storing large amounts of sensitive data in an unreliable storing device will be greatly decreased.
