Ideal Recruitment Program -ii
In my previous article, Ideal Recruitment Program - I, I mentioned how to prepare yourself to start a vigorous recruitment process for your company. Once the Job Roles are well defined with set of eligibility criteria and compensation packages, the recruitment program can be started. In this article, I will discuss about various methods of recruitment and will relate them with kinds of vacancies you have and eligibility criteria you set. Let's directly jump into different recruitment processes.
Campus Recruitment: This is an effective way to recruit huge number of people. However, if you are looking to fill up positions at higher levels of hierarchy, I will not suggest to go with this option. Even when a candidate holds excellent academic track, it is true that he/she does not have professional experience! If you intend to hire freshers and train them, then visiting college campuses would be a good choice for sure.
Walk-In Session: Easy and hassle free process. Advertise in newspapers or magazines mentioning date and time, venue and desired qualification for the vacant positions of your organization and you can ...
... expect some good and eligible people to attend the session. This method can be adopted while hiring either fresh or experienced candidates.
Use Job Portals: You can also post about the vacancies in online portals. HR people prefer to post jobs online because these advertisements do not get concealed over time. As most people are internet savvy nowadays, posting your situation vacant advertisements in internet could help you reach more people faster.
You can also try browsing online job portals which allows users upload their resume. This way you can access thousands of CV's with little effort.
Outsource the hiring process: You can appoint Consulting Services to run the whole recruitment program on your behalf and send some eligible candidates to you for final round of interview. This process saves lots of money and time for you as well. However, it has a drawback; it may not be possible for a recruitment company to understand what qualities you are looking in the candidates apart from their academics. So you have to rely on the company you have hired a lot.
That was all about some effective Recruitment Programs. I will be discussing on Interviews and Induction Programs in my next articles of this series.
