How Color Analyzers Reduce Errors For More Accurate Measurement Of Tv Lcd Displays

In recent years, LCD TVs with LED backlights have become increasingly popular as technology has improved picture quality and achieved a flat and lightweight design. However, LED backlit TV measurement errors during production are considerably larger than that of non-LED backlights—this occurs when color analyzers are used to adjust LCD white-balance on LED backlit LCD TVs. Although the emission wavelength distribution of backlights for fluorescent lamps is fairly uniform, it does differ between LED devices. Conventional color analyzers make LED adjustment difficult as they may show colors that are different from measurement to measurement, resulting in incorrect color reproduction from the original. This has created the need for the CA-310, a high speed instrument that allows for more accurate measuring of displays, reducing errors that occur due to LED peak wavelength variations. High-end luminance colorimeters would be a solution for more accurate measurements but are too slow to use for production lines.
Now, color analyzers are able to measure brightness and other LED backlight characteristics ...
... with the development of a new sensor, ideal for display while-balance adjustment. The CA-310 display color analyzer is a high-speed instrument that enables more accurate measurements of LED backlight displays (including LCD TVs), reducing errors that occur due to variation in peak wavelength. To solve issues with measurement accuracy, color analyzers now enable correct measurements and color matching functions despite varying emission wavelength distributions. The CA-310 minolta color analyzer is equipped with this new sensor and allows for the adjustment of LED backlit LCDs—ideal for increasing production efficiency.
Minolta color analyzers are essential for many individuals looking for precise sensing technologies and other applications that serve as solutions for color matching needs. The CA-310 is modeled after how the human eye views color and its sensors minimize any measurement error for most sources of light, regardless of how emission is distributed. Minolta color analyzer sensors also closely match specifications of the CIE 1931 color-matching functions related to the sensitivity of the human eye.
New color analyzers also reduce LED emission errors (due to distribution variation). LED backlight emission distribution variation can contribute to individual differences of approximately 10nm when wavelength is at peak intensity. Conventional color analyzers can allow for color differences of close to 0.010 on the XY chromaticity diagram. The CA-310 color analyzer reduces this color difference down to 0.003, suppressing possible occurring errors to a third. The CA-310 color analyzer is also capable of taking high-speed measurements, even in extreme low luminance. This provides high speed and high accuracy color analyzer measurement for the manufacture of high-grade display.
The CA-310 minolta color analyzer also provides ten times the measuring speed of the older CS-200 chroma meter. The CS-200 color analyzer is just as accurate, but intended for other applications.
