3 Great Reasons Why You Need A Personal Safety Alarm
No one likes to think there is even the remotest chance they’ll ever be attacked. But the truth is that you just don’t know. It makes sense to try and protect yourself as much as you reasonably can. One good way of doing this is to carry a personal alarm.
This is a small piece of kit that will easily tuck into a pocket or a handbag, and it’s there ready for whenever you need it. There are plenty of different types you can buy, like a key chain alarm you can keep with your keys the whole time, or a mini personal alarm that will be easy and convenient to carry around. All you have to do is choose the design that appeals to you the most.
But if you need some good solid reasons why you should get a personal safety alarm in the first place, here they are.
1.You can prevent an attack from even occurring.
If someone tries to attack you and you reach into your pocket and set off an alarm that packs an impressive 130 decibels or thereabouts, they’re not going to hang around. They’ll be eager to make a getaway in the hope that they won’t get caught. As you can imagine, this alone could mean you ...
... are saved from what could otherwise potentially be a nasty attack.
2.You can alert other people to the fact you need assistance.
The most obvious thing to do is to shout for help if you need it. But not everyone will be able to hear you. An alarm is far louder and you should still be able to press the button to set off the alarm even if the attacker tries to cover your mouth. Again, the end result is that the attacker will panic and vanish, leaving you safe from harm.
3.You can distract your attacker.
Sometimes all you need is a distraction. The last thing the attacker will be expecting is a loud alarm being set off close to where there are standing. Regardless of whether they approach you from the front or behind, you will be able to disorientate them with your alarm. If it gives you the few essential seconds you need to get away, that’s all you’ll want.
It certainly makes good sense to have an alarm on your person should you ever have the need to use it. A personal alarm is just like another form of insurance – hopefully you’ll never have cause to use it but it’s good to know you have it just in case. The three reasons given above should be more than enough to convince you of just how important these alarms are. All you have to do now is to decide which model is going to be right for you.
Just make sure that whatever you choose has a good loud decibel level. It’s worth investing in something reliable that will back you up whenever you need it.
