Finding Tours Of The Best Film Locations

There is no doubt that film locations can make or break a movie. The ambiance and mood they inspire as well as the backdrop they provide inspire actors and directors alike and have become a quintessential element in top rated films. For today's movie aficionados there are tours conducted in prime locations throughout the world that can bring all the aspects of movie fantasy to life.
Booking the right tour depends primarily on the destination. Since movies are shot throughout the world, there are a plethora of choices and opportunities for those motivated by the cinema. Sometimes booking a vacation around a favorite movie can create the trip of a lifetime.
One of the hottest must-see film tours are the Harry Potter sets. These were filmed in England and Scotland in historic sites that add drama to any film. As a result, various sightseeing adventures are available from the 2-1/2 hour London excursions that take guests to Kings Cross Station, the site of the 9-3/4 Platform, to the Leaky Cauldron in Grimmauld Place.
Gloucester Cathedral is another great option. This site served as the setting for the Hogwarts ...
... School of Witchcraft and Wizardry with its extensive labyrinth that students navigated while filming. Still others include the Jacobite Steam Train which runs the same route as the Hogwarts students took through Scotland.
Of course no trip would be complete without a visit to Alnwick Castle which was the location for the highly anticipated Quidditch matches. However, it's important to note that this was also the setting for other great movies such as Cosner's Robin Hood, Redgraves's Mary Queen of Scots, and O'Toole's Becket.
Although England and Scotland are prime locations for movie buffs, especially James Bond devotees, they are just two of the many choices available today. New Zealand, which was the setting for the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and Egypt which served as the backdrop for such great films as the Ten Commandments and The Spy Who Loved Me, are equally intriguing. Additionally, the US if filled with a plethora of choices from New York to Hollywood itself.
Regardless of where in the world an individual would like to visit, a movie was probably made there. As a result, tours are available that bring the cinema to life while exploring the dynamic and culture-rich areas of the world. In fact, an individual could do nothing but take tours to film locations their entire life and never have the opportunity to see them all.
