Succeeding in today's competitive world requires the companies to ensure that their products and services are actually liked by them indeed. It must be noted that the lower or middle managements involved in various functions do not pass such information to management because such grievances often are due to the shortcoming of such personnel. Basically, the method chosen depends on factors such as the nature of the product, the type of the users of the products, geographical dispersal of the users of the product and many such factors. Internet offers a great means for conducting economically and conveniently. There are many firms that offers specialized customer survey and one can enlist their surveys. Face to face surveys can give maximum information and sincere feedback though the method is very expensive. You can call the chosen customers on phone and take their opinion about the products. But the disadvantage of this method is that many consider this an intrusion of privacy and may not answer properly.
In order to conduct the survey, one has to define the scope of the survey objectives. If you are having range of products of varied nature it is not useful to club all the products in single survey as the experiences and hence the feedback may differ for different products.
